The project investigated money management and banking issues for Indigenous individuals and families living in urban, rural and remote locations. The scope did not include the financial management of community organisations as it relates to Governance.
Banking and financial products and services were considered, such as transaction accounts, personal lending, credit cards, ATMs, EFTPOS, Internet and Phone banking and branch access.
Tax and superannuation were included with respect to financial literacy but were not explored in great detail.
Insurance and financial planning were outside the scope of the immediate NIMMA actions but could be included in issues to be worked on, in the longer term.
