Mr. Glen Kelly has been appointed to the board of Reconciliation Australia.
Mr Kelly, a Noongar man, recently worked as the CEO of South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council where he oversaw the negotiation and authorisation of the Noongar Native Title Settlement.
With 21 years of experience in Native Title and land related issues, Mr Kelly has held a number of senior positions in Aboriginal organisations, both as a manager and as an advocate of Indigenous interests. He has also held positions within government agencies.
Mr Kelly sits on a number of high-level committees and statutory authorities at a state and Commonwealth level that relate to Indigenous land interests.
Reconciliation Australia Co-Chair, Professor Tom Calma AO, said “the staff and Board of Reconciliation Australia are pleased to have Mr Kelly as part of the leadership of our organisation.
“We look forward to working with him to advance reconciliation across the country.”
Regarding his appointment, Mr Kelly said “I am extremely proud to have the opportunity to share my skills and knowledge with the Board of Reconciliation Australia and to help guide the development of the organisation in the coming years.”
Mr Kelly will attend his first meeting of the Reconciliation Australia Board today.
