Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a whole range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week (NRW).
Check out the events below and see how you can mark NRW at an event near you.
The dates for NRW are the same each year; 27 May to 3 June.
Please note: the events posted below are not the responsibility of Reconciliation Australia. If you have any questions regarding an event, please contact the organisers.
Join us to explore respectful and appropriate ways to teach First Nations content and concepts in the Drama classroom.
This 6-hour professional learning workshop will focus on Acknowledging Country, understanding and moving through any discomfort you feel about teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, solving drama-based challenges using the award-winning resource ‘Teaching First Nations content and concepts in the Drama Classroom’ (unanimously endorsed by the VAEAI Representative Council), and exploring the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
You will leave with your own copy of ‘Teaching First Nations Content and Concepts’, three lesson plans aligned with the Victorian Curriculum F-10, and the confidence and enthusiasm to put those lesson plans into practice!
