Every year workplaces, schools, early learning services, community groups, reconciliation groups, and people right across the country host a whole range of activities and events during National Reconciliation Week (NRW).
Check out the events below and see how you can mark NRW at an event near you.
The dates for NRW are the same each year; 27 May to 3 June.
Please note: the events posted below are not the responsibility of Reconciliation Australia. If you have any questions regarding an event, please contact the organisers.
The inaugural match for the annual Laharum Natimuk United Indigenous round will be played at Cameron Oval, Laharum. The proximity of our home ground in Laharum to Gariwerd provides a unique opportunity for us to engage with the community, learn from the Traditional Owners, and celebrate the rich heritage of the area. We have chosen to partner with Natimuk United Football Netball Club due to its close proximity to Mount Arapiles (Dyuritte) and the profound importance of both Dyuritte and Gariwerd to the Wotjobuluk people. This ‘Battle of the Rocks’ Round presents an invaluable opportunity to raise awareness of indigenous peoples and celebrate the origins of our national game in the Grampians (Gariwerd).
Football Jumpers and dresses have been designed by a Tradition owner. Perpetual trophy and MVP medal have been designed by indigenous owners. A bush Tucker afternoon tea will also celebrate the foods of indigenous people.
